My Nutrition Sanity



Thank you for visiting my page.  I want to share my story and hope you can find something you relate to and discover ways I can help you.

I can remember hearing the word "diet" from a very young age.  Whether it was from my mom, aunts, grandmother, sisters (I have 3), daytime talk shows.  It seemed like women were ALWAYS on a diet, starting a new diet, doing a cleanse, trying new exercise VHS tapes, walking with friends.   I thought it was normal to always be trying to lose weight and to never be happy with your body.  It didn't help that I danced competitively and eating disorders were very common.  I mean, having to be in a leotard and tights all the time made for some HUGE body image issues.  In my eyes, being skinny was how you measured your attractiveness, thank you Cosmo.  

Reflecting back on it, I spent a good portion of my teens and twenties unhappy with my body.  I would go to the gym for an hour or so after work, running a few miles on the treadmill and then aimlessly wandering around the machines, where I had no clue what to do. I lived o frozen meals and PBJ. In 2007 I was introduced to a new gym and it changed my life.  However you feel about CrossFit is personal but I had a major "ah ha" moment here.  I was more impressed with what my body could do and less focused on how it looked and in the meantime lost weight and gained self-confidence I never had.  In 2011, while pregnant with my first son, I opened a CF affiliate.  It was great, I loved it but I still struggled with my relationship with food.

After spending years into the fitness industry, I tried Paleo, Zone, Atkins, Keto, whatever the latest nutrition craze was that was going to guarantee that I perform better, give me abs, make me socially awkward, and dream of cookies and lattes all night long.  

I've always helped members and friends with their nutrition but wanted to really find a way to  help people have a better relationship with food.  I am so passionate about helping people find sanity in the world of crazy diets. I decided to get a nutrition certification and continue my education in the field.  There are so many fads, so many quick fixes but I want to help you find what is going to work for you.
